- The Medical Assistant/X-Ray or Radiology Tech will be responsible for various tasks, including:
- Promptly greeting patients in the waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room;
- Consistently communicating with patients on wait times and providing direction to the next step in the treatment process;
- Providing timely follow-up regarding lab and x-ray results and executing follow-up calls with sense of urgency;
- Assisting front desk personnel with patient check-in/out procedures when necessary;
- Obtaining and accurately documenting patient vital signs and weight, taking brief history, past medical, family, and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent historical information as appropriate;
- Assisting with patient transfers, assisting with procedures directly supervised by the provider, and assisting in lab procedures under the supervision of the provider.
The Medical Assistant/X-Ray or Radiology Tech will also prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care, including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques. This individual will ensure that equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions to the regional operation manager or provider on duty. Additionally, they will maintain examination rooms, stock supplies as necessary, adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and patient confidentiality policies, perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures, and laboratory procedures under the direction of a provider.
