The role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neurology is to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with neurological disorders. This involves assessing patients' needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, ensuring accurate assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions.
- Supervise staff to whom appropriate care is delegated, promoting effective teamwork and communication.
- Ensure high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care by supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in maintaining competency among clinical staff and optimizing resource management for patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong foundation in nursing principles, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. A current licensure, certification, or registration to practice as a registered nurse (RN) is essential. Preferred qualifications include an academic degree in nursing (Bachelor's or Master's degree). Additionally, proficiency in CPR is mandatory.
