Clinical Support Specialist

This role is responsible for providing clinical support to patients and healthcare teams. The Clinical Support Specialist will ensure that patients receive high-quality care and have a positive experience.


Responsibilities:
  1. Promptly greet patients when entering waiting area, exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room.
  2. Consistently communicate with patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step in the treatment process.
  3. Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize and seek help in emergent / hazardous situations.
  4. Provide timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results.
  5. Execute follow-up calls with sense of urgency.
  6. Assist front desk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary.
  7. Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate.
  8. Assist with patient transfers.
  9. Assist with procedures directly supervised by the provider.
  10. Assist in lab procedures under the supervision of the provider.
  11. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follows established clinical and regulatory procedures in regards to patient safety and care; including proper radiation protection and shielding techniques.
  12. Ensure that equipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctions to the Regional Operation Manager or provider on duty.
  13. Follow documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient visit.
  14. Maintain examination room and stocks if necessary.
  15. Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and patient confidentiality policies.
  16. Perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures and laboratory procedures appropriate for level of training under the direction of a provider.
