Description

Job Title:  Buyer

Location: Tunis

Reporting to: Purchasing Manager

Overview of Role:

As a Buyer you assume the overall responsibility of purchasing activities of promotional

goods for our sites in Czech Republic, Tijuana Mexico, Tennessee, and any other location

as needed. You will be responsible for ensuring all purchase orders (mostly Vendors based

in China) are processed in a timely manner, monitor forecasts, supply capacity with

vendors and assess the optimum time to place orders in consideration of forecasts, lead

times and production schedules. You will manage stock ordering to ensure we carry

sufficient stock to avoid stock outs whilst avoiding carrying too much stock to manage

cashflow. This role requires you to be a hands-on contributor tackling tactical and more

complex issues where analysis of situations and data are required.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage the availability of inventory to your assigned SKUs to satisfy production and customer needs.

  • Closely monitor forecasted material needs

  • Quick effective response to urgent requirements

  • Schedule and Track orders and ensure timely delivery to all plants.

  • Responsible for maintaining data integrity of safety stocks, purchase order dates, lead times, and other key targets related to the purchasing process.

  • Responsible for minimizing air shipments through accurate order management.

  • Manage safety stock levels and process of recommendation to forecasting teams for required adjustments.

  • Identify, assess, and communicate supply disruption risks to your supervisor and key stakeholders.

  • Manages relationships with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate payment to suppliers and reduce/minimize discrepancies in invoices against purchase orders

  • Identifies and often implements plans for continuous operational improvement within the department.

  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.

  • 2+ years' experience in procurement, materials planning, or supply chain operations.

  • Proven track record in process improvement, preferably with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification.

  • Strong understanding of automation tools and processes and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts in forecasting, demand planning, or procurement is highly desirable.

  • ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).

  • Analytical mindset with excellent Excel and data handling skills.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and change management skills.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Digitally curious: eager to learn and apply new technologies.

  • Process-driven: structured thinker with attention to efficiency and accuracy

  • Collaborative: able to engage cross-functionally with IT, finance, marketing, NPI and operations.
