Senior Backend Engineer

As part of our Product Engineering team, you will contribute to the backend foundation of a multi-tenant SaaS platform, working alongside Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps specialists, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver high-impact solutions. What to expect As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the backend services that power our platform. You will work on scalable APIs, authentication and authorization mechanisms, data ingestion workflows, analytics-oriented services, and integrations with internal systems and data pipelines. You will be expected to bring strong engineering judgment, balancing technical excellence with pragmatic delivery. The role offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape core platform capabilities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. What you will do
• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement business logic, validation, persistence layers, and error handling following engineering best practices.
• Build and enhance multi-tenant SaaS capabilities while ensuring proper tenant isolation and platform security.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, indexes, and database migrations.
• Develop APIs supporting data ingestion, analytics, reporting, and dashboard experiences.
• Integrate backend services with internal systems, data-processing workflows, and AI-driven platform components.
• Implement authentication and authorization logic using industry-standard security frameworks and protocols.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure platform reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help drive engineering quality across the platform.
• Identify implementation risks, provide realistic delivery estimates, and recommend practical technical solutions. What we expect from you
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in production environments.
• Solid experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including: SQL optimization, Query performance tuning, Indexing strategies, Transactions, Data modeling.
• Strong understanding of security concepts and implementation, including: OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT authentication, Role-based access control, Authorization frameworks.
• Proven experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and automated quality checks.
• Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving requirements and technical ambiguity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic engineering mindset focused on delivering business value.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working across product, engineering, operations, and data teams.
• Nice to have: Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms; Experience with AI-powered products, analytics platforms, or data-intensive applications; Experience collaborating with Data Science or Data Engineering teams; Familiarity with data pipelines, asynchronous processing, batch jobs, or workflow orchestration; Experience with object storage solutions such as Amazon S3, MinIO, or Google Cloud Storage; Exposure to microservices, event-driven architectures, or modular monoliths; Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native environment; Experience optimizing backend services and databases handling large-scale datasets and high-volume traffic.
