Senior Data Architect

At K-LAGAN, we are looking for a Data Architect to join our team and lead the design, structure, and evolution of enterprise cloud data platforms. In this role, you will define end-to-end data architectures, establish data governance standards, and guide engineering teams in implementing scalable, high-performance data systems. Key position condition: Position to support Spain remotely from Tunisia

Key Responsibilities
• Enterprise Data Architecture Design: Define and oversee the global data architecture strategy, designing modern platforms (Data Lakehouses, Data Meshes, and Cloud Data Warehouses) tailored to business needs.
• Data Modeling & System Design: Establish conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both operational and analytical systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Tech Stack & Integration Strategy: Evaluate, select, and integrate cloud-native technologies, frameworks, and ETL/ELT pipelines for batch and real-time streaming processing (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Governance, Security & Compliance: Define rules and policies for data governance, master data management (MDM), data lineage, metadata management, and compliance standards (GDPR, ISO, data privacy).
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide data engineering, BI, and analytics teams on architectural best practices, design patterns, and code quality standards.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with senior tech leads, product owners, and business leaders to translate strategic objectives into scalable architectural blueprints and roadmaps. 📋 Main Requirements & Qualifications

Experience:
Extensive track record as a Data Architect, Lead Data Engineer, or Enterprise Architect managing large-scale data ecosystems.
• Cloud Platform Mastery: Deep architectural experience with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data stacks (e.g., Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Data Modeling Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of relational, dimensional (Kimball/Inmon), and Data Vault modeling techniques, as well as NoSQL paradigms (document/graph).
• Engineering & Automation Standards: Solid experience in software engineering best practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), data pipeline orchestration, and CI/CD for data.
• Languages: Advanced / Fluent English (C1 level required), both spoken and written, for clear architectural communication and alignment with global stakeholders.

• Hands-on experience implementing Data Mesh or Data Fabric patterns in complex enterprise environments.
• Mastery of advanced streaming architectures (Apache Kafka, Event Hubs).
