Under the overall supervision of Resource Management Officer and the direct supervision of Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

Education

  • High school degree/certificate with minimum five years of relevant work experience; or, Bachelor s Degree from an accredited institution

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .

Experience

  • Excellent communication skills in English and
  • Previous experience in an international, humanitarian/development organization and/or in capacity building initiatives is an advantage
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds and respect for diversity and gender equality
  • Strong Computer skills especially in Ms Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with a team of colleagues
  • Time Management and planning for accounting cycles
  • Able to set up internal record tracking

  • Excellent operational, organization and communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal communication; commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results,
  • Demonstrated ability of working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds to achieve desired goals.
  • Clearly communicates, and listens to feedback on, changing priorities and procedures
  • Strong computer skills - Word, Excel and Internet and experience with accounting systemsis advantageous
  • ORACLE experience is an advantage

Languages

Required :

For this position, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).

Desirable:

Working Knowledge of Arabic and other languages

IOM s official languages are English, French and Spanish.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
