JOB SUMMARY As Manufacturing Sustaining Engineer, you will support products once they’ve moved from design into full production. You ensure that what rolls off the line stays reliable, buildable, and cost-effective throughout the product’s lifecycle. Your work blend factory-floor sleuthing with long-range product stewardship. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Own post-launch product support, addressing issues that arise during production, assembly, and field use.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing defects by diving into process data, yield trends, returned units, and operator feedback.
• Lead root-cause analyses and implement durable corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) that improve product and process stability.
• Manage the engineering work requests (EWRs) and work on Engineering Change Notification (ECNs) for component changes related to manufacturability, cost, reliability or Value Engineering.
• Support supply chain continuity by evaluating alternates when components face obsolescence, long lead times, or cost spikes.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and design engineering teams, keeping product intent intact as changes are rolled out.
• Analyze yields and process capability (Cp/Cpk) to identify where the production line needs tuning or tooling adjustments.
• Optimize manufacturability by refining assembly steps, tooling, test procedures, or quality checkpoints.
• Review and update production documentation including 3D, drawings, test specs, BOMs, drawings, labels, manuals, etc.
• Champion product reliability, feeding lessons learned back to design teams and ensuring consistent performance in the field. CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic)
· Hands-on experience with manufacturing environments, including troubleshooting on the line.
· Strong skills in root-cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, DOE, FMEA).
· Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, SMT, assembly, testing, and inspection.
· Proficient with CAD (SolidWorks preferably), PLM, and ERP systems.
· Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, tolerances (GD&T), and test data.
· Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
· Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
· Fluent in English WE VALUE
• You enjoy the heartbeat of the factory—where ideas meet machinery and become tangible.
