The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is the operational arm of the United Nations. It supports the successful implementation of peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects undertaken by its partners worldwide. UNOPS helps its partners build a better future by providing services that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement, and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors, and UN organizations.
The UNOPS office in Tunisia comprises several functional spaces, including work offices, a meeting room, a kitchen, a corridor, and sanitary facilities. To ensure a clean, healthy, and welcoming working environment for all staff and visitors, the maintenance worker will be responsible for performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks under the direct supervision of the administrative associate.
Daily tasks:
- Clean and vacuum
- Dusting office furniture, carpets, ceramic floors,
- Empty the bins,
- Clean the walls, etc.
- Wash and mop the hallways, offices and common areas
- Clean the stairs,
- Clean all glass surfaces, mirrors and baseboards inside the rooms.
- Clean public spaces, meeting rooms, reception halls and corridors.
- Clean the toilets, including bowls, sinks, mirrors, walls and floors, with an ad quat supply of toilet paper, lotion and soap.
- Serve water, coffee or tea to guests, when applicable.
- Empty the waste into the containers provided outside the building.
Periodic checks:
- Providing cleaning services during events, on demand.
- Perform other tasks, as needed.
The efficiency and quality of the work performed by the cleaning staff have a direct impact on the smooth daily operation of the UNOPS office in Tunisia. A clean, orderly, and hygienic environment contributes to the health, safety, and well-being of staff, as well as a professional image with partners and visitors.
Desired Candidate ProfileEducation
Secondary education is an advantage
Exp rience
Have at least 1 year of experience as a maintenance worker.
LANGUAGES
Fluency in Arabic is required
Knowledge of French is an asset
