Senior Data Engineer

At K-LAGAN, we are looking for a Data Engineer (Azure) to join our team and contribute to high-impact cloud data initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining robust data architectures, pipelines, and analytical solutions within an enterprise cloud environment. Key position condition: Position to support Spain remotely from Tunisia

Key Responsibilities
• Data Engineering & Architecture: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using Azure-native technologies.
• ETL/ELT Development: Develop end-to-end data transformation workflows, orchestrating batch and real-time streaming processes to support advanced analytics and operational reporting.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Cloud Operations: Provision and maintain cloud data infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, data governance, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, data privacy standards).
• Data Quality & Testing: Write clean, modular, and testable code (Python, PySpark, SQL), implementing automated test suites and data quality validations.
• Continuous Integration & Automation (CI/CD): Implement and optimize data pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for continuous integration, continuous deployment, and operational resilience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, software engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban). 📋 Main Requirements & Qualifications

Experience:
Solid track record as a Data Engineer with hands-on experience developing with Python, PySpark, and SQL (5+ years).
• Azure Cloud Ecosystem: Deep practical knowledge of Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL / Cosmos DB).
• IaC & Automation: Experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and building CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Data Modeling & Storage: Hands-on experience in relational and non-relational database design, data warehousing methodologies, and query tuning/optimization.
• Languages: Advanced / Fluent English (C1 level required), both spoken and written, for daily collaboration with international teams.

• Experience with real-time streaming frameworks (Kafka, Event Hubs).
• Hands-on experience with Delta Lake, Microsoft Fabric, or modern data stack tools.
